Brendan Beasley serves as senior counsel of Klavens Law Group, P.C. Having previously served as in-house counsel to solar project developers and module manufacturers, as well as in operations supporting the expansion of a nonprofit residential solar developer, Brendan’s practice combines broad industry expertise with a practical business-oriented sensibility. Representative matters include the purchase and sale of renewable energy projects, construction and term financings, and development stage commercial transactions such as project development joint venture agreements, power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements and lease agreements, as well as engineering, procurement and construction agreements. In addition to providing transactional services, Brendan also serves as outside general counsel or corporate counsel to clients, advising on entity formation, commercial contracts, governance and other corporate matters.
Prior to joining the solar industry, Brendan was an associate at the Chicago and Los Angeles offices of Latham & Watkins from 2002 through 2008, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and structured finance transactions. After moving to San Francisco, from 2009 through 2016 Brendan worked with Grid Alternatives, Solar Power Partners (acquired by NRG), and with the US project development groups of solar module manufacturers Trina Solar and Hanergy.
Brendan is a graduate of the University of Findlay (BA 1998, summa cum laude) and the University of Pennsylvania (JD 2002). He is also a LEED Accredited Professional (2008).
Brendan is admitted to practice in California, Illinois and Massachusetts.
