KLG Pro Bono Work With CLF Legal Food Hub

Klavens Law Group is part of a network of lawyers providing pro bono legal services to qualifying farmers, food producers and food-related entrepreneurs as part of the Conservation Law Foundation's Legal Food Hub.  The inaugural Fall 2016 issue of To Market magazine features an article on the Legal Food Hub, quoting KLG's Jonathan Klavens.  If you are a food entrepreneur or farmer in search of legal help, the Legal Food Hub might be just what you are looking for.

Conservation Law Foundation is an environmental advocacy organization based in New England, and it launched the Legal Food Hub in Massachusetts in 2014.  The program matches attorneys with qualifying farmers, food producers, and food-related entrepreneurs who need free legal assistance with issues ranging from company formation, to compliance with state laws and regulations and simple contract reviews.  Hub attorneys can also help with estate planning, employment and renewable energy siting issues.  Want to use gleaners on your farm?  Thinking about donating left over food product from your value-added product operation?  Need to hire a hauler for food waste recycling?  Submit a request for help from the Hub and ask if you might be eligible to be paired with a pro bono lawyer.  The Hub has recently expanded to Maine, and soon will be in place for farmers and food start-ups hoping to be matched with pro bono attorneys in Rhode Island and Connecticut.  CLF and the Legal Food Hub are supported by grant funds and donations.  KLG is proud to serve as one of many firms providing pro bono services through the Hub.
