Are MA Utilities Meeting Interconnection Timeline Requirements?

All of the Massachusetts electric distribution companies recently claimed that they are in compliance with their interconnection timeline requirements.  A notice issued this give stakeholders until July 24, 2017 to submit comments on those claims.

Massachusetts electric distribution companies are required to file annual interconnection timeline compliance updates under Department of Public Utilities (“DPU”) Order 11-75-F.  National Grid and Eversource (both NSTAR/East and WMECo/West) each filed its annual Interconnection Timeline Enforcement Mechanism (“TEM”) Report on March 31, 2017.  Fitchburg Gas and Electric Light filed its TEM Report on April 24, 2017.

The companies sent out a Notice of Filing and Request for Comments on June 28, 2017.  Their TEM Reports all state that the companies have met their timeline requirements as measured by the DPU-approved calculation mechanism.  Any person interested in commenting may do so no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017.

The individual dockets are DPU 17-86 (National Grid), DPU 17-87 (NSTAR), DPU 17-88 (WMECo), and DPU 17-89 (Fitchburg), and the full reports are available in the DPU File Room.
