This year marks the second year the Boston Bar Association has held an Energy Law Conference to provide participants an opportunity to engage on current industry advances and challenges in the midst of the urgent call to combat climate change.
The BBA Energy Law Conference will feature a “Meet the Regulators” panel that includes Melissa Hoffer, Chief of the Energy and Environment Bureau at the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, Judith Judson, Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, Matthew Nelson, Chair of the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, and Martin Suuberg, Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection.
There will be additional panels covering a range of issues, including the aftermath of the Merrimack Valley explosions, offshore wind, grid modernization, and energy storage. Courtney will moderate a panel tackling the challenge of siting of solar facilities in Massachusetts reviewing both on the ground land use issues as well as impacts at the transmission level in areas that are saturated with solar installations. The panel will feature experts from ISO New England, DOER and SunPower, a national solar developer.
