NEWIEE Holds 2019 Women Shaping the Agenda Event

KLG is proud to sponsor the fifth annual Women Shaping the Agenda event on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, organized by New England Women in Energy and Environment (NEWIEE). Featuring a keynote address by Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey and a panel of senior policy makers from around New England, this year’s event will focus on “Regional Collaboration vs. State Sovereignty on Energy and the Environment: Where the New England States Converge and Diverge.”

Attorney General Healey is expected to talk about her ambitious energy and environmental agenda and the leadership role that women will play in tackling the climate crisis and the critical opportunity to build a clean energy future.

The panel will include Kate Bailey, Commissioner of the NH Public Utilities Commission, Carol Grant, Commissioner of the RI Office of Energy Resources, Hannah Pingree, Director, ME Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future, and will be moderated by Kate McKeever, Director of Regulatory Affairs, Enel Green Power North America. The panelists will discuss how the states are working together to meet their shared clean energy and environmental policy goals, and where the states are going their separate ways to achieve state-specific policies and objectives. Policy matters of interest will include: renewable/clean energy procurement efforts; climate mitigation strategies; carbon reduction measures from the power, transportation, and buildings sectors; and clean energy jobs objectives.

NEWIEE’s Women Shaping the Agenda Series is an annual, summer panel discussion among leaders in the industry, featuring engaging dialogue and debate on industry and policy topics in New England. NEWIEE’s programming seeks to bring the energy and environmental sectors together with a particular focus on areas where they most closely intersect, raise the voice of women professionals in solving today’s challenges, and help women to advance in their careers.

While the July 24 event is now sold out, NEWIEE has created a waiting list.
